I found that if you reset the infotainment screen by holding down the on/off control for 10 seconds the system would restart and the Bluetooth would be on, not ideal but it gets you access to your phone while in the car. This would sometimes last a couple of days, other times just one short journey.
Check that other devices paired with your phone aren't getting your calls. Turn on Phone audio . Open your phone's Settings app . Tap Connected devices Bluetooth . Next to your car or accessory's name, tap Settings . Next to 'Phone audio', tick the box.
For most smartphones, you can access the Bluetooth settings through the quick settings menu or the main settings app. Turn on Bluetooth and keep your smartphone’s Bluetooth screen open as as you connect your phone to the infotainment system of Octavia. On iPhone, go to Settings > Bluetooth.
To get stereo bluetooth, you probably need to add an extra wire for the other channel between the BT module and headunit. If the aux is factory fitted, it would have worked originally. Sounds like a previous owner has done some messing about if it was disconnected.
